by the Earl of
Kimberley to point out to
You for the consideration of Sec: Cardwell that the sum
of $750.84 claimed by
the Govt of Hongkong for
the maintenance of military prisoners is properly
equivalent to a sum of £160, 16s, 6d at the customary
rate of exchange of 4/3* the dollar, whereas in
your letter above referred to it is made equivalent
to a sum of £1571 13s 4d
